Fibre optic cable capable of carrying more than 1,000 megabits of data per second has been called the future of Canada's digital economy. But more than a year after the CRTC ruled the big telcos had to open their fibre optic networks smaller players, the only way to get a fibre internet connection in Canada is still with one of the big guys.
